First Tesla spotted in Santa Monica California

Today we spotted the first Tesla Roadster in real life in Santa Monica California. From the corner of my eye I caught a glimpse of a very sporty car, which only could be a Lotus Elise or a Tesla. After turning our car around we found out for sure. It was a Tesla Roadster. Tesla Motors is delivering the long awaited full electric sports car to the first 100 proud and lucky owners. It doesn't come cheap at 100.000 dollars a pop, but early adaptors don't mind paying a premium. And in this particular case the benefits are for all of us. 135 mpg equivalent and the living proof that electric cars perform and look as good, if not better than their gaz guzzeling brethren. The future has arrived! Albeit currently only for celebs a la George Clooney and Leonardo Dicaprio...

"Albeit currently only for celebs a la George Clooney and Leonardo Dicaprio..." and blatantly arrogant parkers.

This shot is outside Mahalo.com, and there's a thread on Teslamotorsclub.com about the Mahalo owner getting the car on loan from Elon and giving some of the employees rides. So I would anticipate that they parked it across those spaces for the shots, in between rides. Not just a random terrible parking job.
